Decisions of the October 30, 2008 Public Hearing
At a public hearing held by the East Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals, in the Town Council Chambers, 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., the following applications were heard and acted upon:
Paul Hellyar , 1761 Main Street, Requests a variance from Section 209.1(a) Location of Required Parking, to permit a 12’x 15’ “turnaround” parking space in the required front yard area. (Zone R-2) [Approved by a vote of 5-0]
Arnco Sign Co. Inc., agent for 3-31 Main Street, Requests a variance from Sections 210.5(c)(1) and 210.6(d) Signs, to increase the number of signs for “PETSMART” from 2 to 4 and increase the allowable square footage by 38 square feet for these 3 additional signs. (Zone B-1)[Tabled until the December 4, 2008 meeting]
Gary Rounseville, agent for the trustees, 1065-1071 Burnside Avenue, Requests a variance from Section 222 Alcoholic Liquors, Subsections 222.4 Discontinued Uses and 222.1(b) Distance Requirements, to reestablish a retail alcohol sales operation. (Zone B-2)[Tabled until the December 4, 2008 meeting]
David Pardo, 23 Linwood Drive, requests a variance from Section 209.1(a) Location of Required Parking to permit a 20 foot wide driveway in the required front yard, down to the street. (Zone R-2) [Approved by a vote of 5-0]
